Environmental Task Force

Working closely with the wider UK space ecosystem to drive collective progress and provide support for organisations engaging with space-related infrastructure and equipment.

The Environmental Task Force, guided by Space Scotland and our global partners in industries including space, environmental, government and academia, are committed to understanding the space industry’s impact on Earth and low-Earth orbit.

Co-chaired by Derek Harris and Sharon Pryde, the group’s ongoing Sustainable Space Challenges initiative, exploring more sustainable approaches to space exploration, continues to be a success. You can find more about this and the Environmental Task Force’s other initiatives below.

Membership of the Environmental Task Force is open to global organisations as long as they have a demonstrable interest in space sustainability. Also, representatives must be able to commit enough time and energy to support successful outcomes.

The innovative Space Sustainability Roadmap is the latest of the Environmental Task Force’s activities, and it outlines a clear path towards a more sustainable Scottish space sector.
