International Engagement
The Infrastructure and Facilities Working Group is one of Space Scotland’s five Working Groups and represents the collective voice of the Scottish space sector on space-related infrastructure, equipment, and facilities.
The group brings together industry, academia, and public sector organisations to support organisations that use, or are seeking to use, space testing and development facilities in Scotland, helping to enable economic growth and strengthen Scotland’s position in the UK and global space ecosystem.
Our mission is to deliver strategic international engagement that opens markets, fosters innovation, and secures Scotland’s leadership in the global space economy.
The Infrastructure and Facilities Working Group provides strategic coordination, evidence, and engagement across the space infrastructure landscape. Our role is to support mapping and evidence gathering of space infrastructure and facilities; identify current and future gaps in capability and access; inform policy, funding, and investment decisions; strengthen UK-wide collaboration between space clusters and facilities; promote cross-sector use of infrastructure (e.g. energy, manufacturing, defence); support international engagement and reciprocal access to facilities.
Infrastructure and facilities underpin launch, manufacturing, testing, research, and innovation across the space economy. This Working Group helps ensure Scotland’s space ambitions are supported by the right capabilities, access, coordination, and investment — now and in the future.
